Christian Danielsson, Director General of DG European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission visited Serbia on 18-19 March.
Christian Danielsson met Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, members of the Government, heads of independent regulatory bodies and representatives of civil society. He also visited Novi Sad and met local authorities. Danielsson underlined the EU’s commitment to support Serbia on its EU accession path. He commended Serbia for reforms of the economy. He also encouraged his Serbian interlocutors to continue with reforms in all areas. He underlined in particular the importance of reforms in the judiciary, freedom of expression and media, and public administration. Danielsson also welcomed the completion of the screening process of all negotiation chapters next week.
