Presenting the project “Empower!”, a public event “Games without borders – Get involved!” has been organised within “Vidovdan Eco Day „Krusevac- Green town“ manifestation in Krusevac.
Said event is part of the EU-funded project “Empower! Socio-Economic Inclusion of Roma and Rural Poor through Recycling,” implemented by the public utility company “Krusevac“ as the project holder, local self-government Krusevac and CSO “Treehouse“ with support from the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs as the main beneficiary of the project.
This activity is part of the project “European Union Support to Inclusive Society,” supported by the European Union to the tune EUR5.4 million and implemented by the EU Delegation to Serbia in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs.
As part of the traditional celebration of Vidovdan, 11 June, an event titled “Vidovdanski eco day – Kruševac green city” was organised from 17:00 – 20:00 in down-town Krusevac on the plateau in front of Dom sindikata. “Empower!” project team organised the activity “Games Without Borders – Get Involved!” to foster the inclusion of Roma children in extracurricular activities through socialising with children who are members of various sports clubs in Krusevac.
Goal of the activity was the promotion of multiculturalism and bringing children of different nationalities closer together. Team “Empower!” also called people to donate used toys to “Veselin Nikolić” primary from Krusevac and the most vulnerable Roma families from local Roma communities. Through these activities, we sought to promote interculturalism with respect to diversity and encourage tolerance. The project runs for 24 months with a total value of EUR200.991,75.
We invite citizens and other interested parties to join us in project activities and get directly in touch with the project team.
