The Embassy of Czech Republic in Belgrade was today the venue of “Open Doors” event, intended to mark the Europe Day; Czech Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission Jiří Kyrian greeted students, who had an opportunity to tour the Embassy building located in King Aleksandar Boulevard.
Kyrian addressed students by saying that the Embassy decided to open its doors on the occasion of Europe Day celebration, and marking the tenth anniversary of Czech EU membership.
In the next two hours the Embassy is yours, he said to students, and invited them to tour together the building of Czech diplomatic representative office.
During the tour, Ivan Marković of Distrikt 6 association informed students about the architecture of this building from the historical point of view.
Marković said that the ground on which the building was constructed after the World War I, was a personal possession of King Peter I, subsequently assigned to Czechoslovakia as a member of Little Entente, in order to construct its own legation (the term used at the time).
Tour around the Czech representative office was jointly organised by Czech Embassy and the EU Info Centre in Belgrade.
