European School of Debate is launching its twelfth generation and is now accepting applications. Young people are invited to join a growing community of over 1,000 high school and university students who have already taken part in this program, gaining valuable experience and new skills.

The application deadline is Friday, October 31, 2025.

The call is open exclusively to high school and university students residing in Serbia.

Selected participants will attend workshops focused on debating skills, argumentation, public speaking, as well as the functioning of the European Union, its institutions, and the EU integration process. A panel of experienced debate coaches will oversee the selection process.

A four-day training session for the 30 selected participants will be held from November 20 to 23 at the European House in Belgrade.

The workshops will be led by seasoned trainers with national and international accolades in competitive debating. Following the training, participants will have the opportunity to take part in public debates across Serbia, addressing key and timely topics.

Applicants are encouraged to express their motivation for participating by thoroughly answering the questionnaire.

European Debate School is a project organized by the European House and the academic debate network Open Communication, with the support of the Delegation of the European Union. The aim of this project is to educate high school and university students about the European Union, the process of European integration, and the art of debating.

Over the past eleven years, more than 1,000 high school and university students from over 30 cities across Serbia have attended the Debate School, and nearly 50 public debates have been organized.
