Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport opened the traditional “Games without borders on water” aimed at persons with disabilities and marking the end of summer season at “Olimp” sports centre.

“We continually see the progress in the area of disability sports, and I can see great engagement of ministries, Government and local authorities seeking to improve conditions and create new possibilities for persons with disabilities,” Davenport said at the opening of the manifestation.

“It is of great importance to make persons with disabilities truly equal in the society,” he added.

“Olimp” pools recreational and sport programme, sponsored by the Municipality of Zvezdara and Disabled athletic association of Serbia, has gathered more than a hundred participants from across Belgrade.

EU Delegation to Serbia has supported this year’s “Games without borders on water”, while Davenport stressed the importance of social inclusion of persons with disabilities.
