The European Commission is taking action to boost e-Commerce by addressing three main issues: geo-blocking, parcel delivery and Consumer trust. Being able to buy and sell services and products online has generated many opportunities. Consumers benefit from more choice. And companies big or small can reach a wide customer base. But electronic commerce in the EU is not functioning as smoothly as it could. Consumers and retailers are missing out on opportunities. The European Commission is proposing to ban all unjustified forms of geo-blocking, more transparency and regulatory oversight, so that consumers and retailers can benefit from affordable deliveries and convenient return options, as well as stronger cooperation between national authorities to tackle unfair practices across Europe.
