The rehabilitation of three infiltration lakes which provide water supply to 15,000 inhabitants of Trstenik is completed. This included removal of the mud, regulation of the banks and placement of new layers of filtration sand. This intervention was funded by the EU with some 192,400 Euros. As the part of the standard procedure, the Public Utility Company “Water Supply” now has to obtain three positive findings of the consecutive chemical analysis of the water samples before including lakes back to the system.
Distribution of spring crops for 7,763 farming families started on 23 February 2015 throughout flood affected areas. Barley, peas, red clover, lucerne and maize will be delivered to agricultural producers by the end of March with appropriate fertilizers . More than 3,700 agricultural producers will receive barley, peas, red clover and Lucerne by the end of February, while another 3,700 farmers will receive maize seeds in March. This will be the largest group of agriculture beneficiaries receiving support under the EU Assistance for Flood Relief in Serbia Programme.
So far, 100 houses in Obrenovac, Krupanj, Svilajnac, Varvarin, Paraćin, Gornji Milanovac, Bajina Bašta, Šid, Malo Crniće, Valjevo, Osečina, Smederevo, Smederevska Palanka, Požega, Loznica, Ruma and Mionica have been constructed.
Some 716 flood affected homes have been rehablitated in Obrenovac, Krupanj, Kraljevo, Lazarevac, Svilajnac, Trstenik, Varvarin, Valjevo, Mali Zvornik, Ljubovija, Šabac, Bajina Bašta, Šid, Loznica, Smederevska Palanka, Velika Plana, Čačak, Ub, Koceljeva, Jagodina and Paraćin. The construction works are in the finishing stage on some 30 family houses.
This is the part of private housing reconstruction process for the total of some 950 in 30 municipalities funded through the European Union Assistance for Flood Relief in Serbia Programme which is well underway. Parallel to this, basic sets of furniture and home appliances are being deliviered to the flood affected families.
