Reconstruction process on private houses for over 770 families in 24 municipalities mostly affected by the floods is well underway. This includes reconstruction works and construction of new homes which is funded by the European Union with 6.2 million euros. The construction process for 15 new houses started in Valjevo, Ub, Lajkovac and Bajina Bašta last week. Depending upon the weather conditions, the completion of this intervention is expected in December 2014 – January 2015.
The reconstruction of 11.5 kilometres of the damaged road between Krupanj and Korenita commenced and it will include recovery of the landslides, regulation of the riverbanks, reconstruction of the bridges and other traffic objects and renovation of the roadway. The works will be conducted in phases, and the completion is expected by June 2015. The European Union funds these works with 4.5 million Euros.
The construction works on the classrooms and other premises within Elementary School „Posavski partizani“ in Obrenovac are completed. This included plastering, flooring, joinery, hydro-isolation, painting, mechanical works and reconstruction of electrical installation. Also, the school is equipped with basic furniture and teaching material. This improved conditions for learning of 815 elementary school students. In addition to this, floors will be installed in the sports hall during December 2014. The European Union funded these works with 150,642 Euros.
The delivery and distribution of plum seedlings to the flood affected agriculture producers has been completed in all 24 municipalities. In total, 344 beneficiary families received 300 plum seedlings each, which amounts to 103,200 plum seedlings delivered. By mid-December all agriculture producers will complete planting of plum seedlings.
