The reconstruction of damaged houses and construction of new homes in flood affected areas, included in European Union Assistance for Flood Relief in Serbia programme, is expected to start by the end of October 2014.
Next week, the Public Utility Company “Roads of Serbia” will select the company which provided the best offer for the reconstruction of the road between Korenita and Krupanj, damaged by the floods. The construction works, estimated at around 4.5 million euros, will be funded by the EU through UNOPS and the completion is expected by June 2015.
Total of 4,427 farming families in 24 flood affected municipalities will receive winter wheat packages containing 250kg of winter wheat and 300kg of mineral fertilizer by October 20. This will help them to sow the fields during October in order to restore agriculture production.
A number of micro and small businesses in Smederevska Palanka, Velika Plana, Paraćin, Kraljevo, Lazarevac, Kosjerić are selected to receive support in equipment, production material, small reconstructions.
The selection process in other municipalities will be completed in the second half of October 2014.
