The tendering procedures for construction and reconstruction of private houses in flood affected areas included in European Union Assistance for Flood Relief in Serbia Programme will be launched and advertised in the week of 6 October 2014. After the best offers from construction companies are selected, the reconstruction is expected to start by the end of October 2014. Reconstruction of schools as well as support to agricultural households is also underway.

The lists of families, whose houses were damaged during May 2014 floods, which will receive European Union support in construction and reconstruction of their homes in Kraljevo, Lazarevac, Svilajnac, Trstenik and Varvarin  were confirmed by the Beneficiary Selection Committees.

Winter wheat packages for 278 farming families are delivered to municipalities Osečina and Čačak on 02 and 03 October. In Osečina municipality 100 families will receive winter wheat package, while in Čačak 178 farming families will be supported with winter wheat package.

The small and medium repairs of all affected private houses of 193 families in Krupanj started, through the European Union Assistance for the Flood Relief in Serbia Programme. This cost of this intervention is EUR 183,000 and is expected to be completed by mid-November 2014.

The reconstruction of all houses in the Braće Jugović Settlement in Obrenovac, including the renovation of homes to more than 100 families, will start during the first week of October 2014. This will include small and medium repairs such as replacement of joinery, plastering, painting, flooring etc. This intervention worth over EUR 500,000, funded through the European Union Assistance for Flood Relief in Serbia, will be implemented by International Organization for Migration (IOM).

The second phase of reconstruction of the Mechanical – Electro Technical School in Paraćin will commence on 6 October 2014, which will include rehabilitation of central heating installation, boilers and heating sub-station. Previous phase included plastering, painting, flooring, replacement of doors and windows so that 700 students and teachers could attend classes from the very beginning of new school year. The total intervention is worth EUR 33,000. The completion of works is expected by the end of October 2014.

The reconstruction of Agriculture and Chemistry School in Obrenovac will be successfully completed during the week of 6 October 2014. The intervention worth EUR 40,110 covered plastering, flooring, joinery, painting, electrical and mechanical works, so that 600 students and teachers may restore normal conditions for classes. In addition, school will be equipped with new furniture and didactic material. This part of intervention was implemented by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
