In the framework of EU-funded cross-border project Development and Promotion of Health Tourism in cross-border area Serbia – Bosnia and Herzegovina (CROSS SPA), a gym within the Specialised Hospital Čigota has been renovated, whilst new health tourism programmes have been announced and are being included in the regular tourist offer.

The main goal of renovating the Specialised Hospital’s gym is the promotion of tourist infrastructure of the cross-border area. Purchased and installed equipment is adapted to the needs of beneficiaries of Čigota and Čigotica health programmes, but apart from this primary function, the equipment can be used by beneficiaries of all the other health programmes.

The EU-funded cross-border project, CROSS SPA, is carried out by the Tourism Organisation of West Serbia from Užice in partnership with Zlatibor Regional Development Agency, and Sarajevo Foundation of Local Democracy in partnership with Sarajevo Regional Development Agency SERDA.

The project is aimed at strengthening regional cooperation and sustainable economic development in cross-border area Serbia – Bosnia and Herzegovina through integrated offer of health tourism.
