The European Union offers a large number of opportunities to Serbian citizens, institutions, companies and organizations – from financial assistance to free travel and exchange of experiences.

This is the main message of the EU Opportunity Week – a unique series of events that will take place from May 15th to 21st in Belgrade (MTS Hall), Niš (Ambassador Hotel) and Novi Sad (Novi Sad Fair). The EU Opportunity Week is jointly organized by the EU Delegation to Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

During six days, more than 120 information sessions and panels will be held, and those interested will be able to find out how to apply for EU programs, projects and funds. Numerous opportunities will be presented for entrepreneurs, businessmen, farmers, students, pupils, teachers, innovators, institutions, local governments, media, citizens’ associations, and other organizations.

We are expecting you live at the event in three cities, but also, you will be able to follow all the events online, as well as ask questions and get answers in real time on the eumogucnosti.rs website.

Numerous interlocutors will analyze economic topics and provide concrete information regarding funds from various areas such as business, innovation, education, culture and other segments of cooperation.

The program of the EU Opportunity Week is thematically determined by day:

  • Monday, May 15 – Economy (Belgrade);
  • Tuesday, May 16 – Business (Belgrade);
  • Wednesday, May 17 – Education, youth and sports (Belgrade);
  • Thursday, May 18 – Culture, media and civil society (Belgrade);
  • Friday, May 19 – Local development, energy, green transition and cross-border cooperation (Niš);
  • Sunday, May 21 – Agriculture (Novi Sad).

“The EU is with the citizens of Serbia – it provides them with numerous financing and assistance opportunities in various fields. The EU Opportunity Week offers answers on how to get assistance and funds from the EU. Serbia and the European Union help to improve business and the quality of life of citizens, because we are better together,” says EU Ambassador to Serbia Emanuele Giaufret.

“EU Opportunity Week is the crown of the long-standing partnership between Serbia and the European Union. During the six days of the intensive program, the citizens of Belgrade, Niš and Novi Sad will have the opportunity to learn more specifically how and under what conditions they can participate in numerous EU programs and projects that are open to Serbia. It is about giving citizens the opportunity to present their good ideas for new jobs, training, improvement of the environment in which they live and progress, and to receive support. These are the benefits of European integration, this is the impact on our daily life”, says Minister for European Integration Tanja Miščević.

On the first day, on Monday, May 15, we will start with a session on macroeconomic developments and the impact of the European integration process on the wider economic picture of Serbia and how Serbia is an opportunity for the European Union. Guests will hear the experiences and predictions of representatives of Chambers of Commerce and European banks.

In the coming days, we will focus on info-sessions on individual programs, projects and open calls with concrete assistance to citizens and institutions in Serbia. Direct answers to questions – how to get EU funds.

The EU Opportunity Week will end with the topic of agriculture, and the sessions will be held within this year’s Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad.
