Representatives of the European Union, Serbia and organisations in charge of projects’ implementation will sign agreements on granting EUR30 million from IPA funds for flood recovery in 24 towns and municipalities. The signature will take place at Gymnasium building in Obrenovac on Friday, July 25.

European Union has provided funds for the immediate reconstruction of schools, kindergartens, houses, residential buildings, and health centres damaged by floods.
Reconstruction projects will be implemented by UN organisations (Office for project services) and FAO (Food and agriculture organisation), as well as three major NGOs – ASB (Arbeiter Samariter Bund), DRC (Danish Refugee Council) and HELP (German organisation providing assistance to reconstruction and rehabilitation of flooded areas).
EUR14 million will be allocated for the reconstruction of public institutions, eight million euros will be aimed at cleaning and restoring private homes, whereas another eight million will be earmarked to restart the agricultural production.
Gymnasium in Obrenovac, venue of the agreement signature, is one of the institutions on the reconstruction agenda (allocated with EUR214,500).

Ambassador Michael Davenport Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia, Jadranka Joksimović Serbian Minister without portfolio in charge of European integration, Marko Blagojević Director of the Government Office for Reconstruction and Flood Relief, Miroslav Čučković Obrenovac Mayor, as well as representatives of partner organisations will attend the signature.
