Young musicians from six South Serbian cities, members of EU-funded Nisville foundation, will perform at Nisville Youth Stage set in Old Fortress in Nis on Friday, 15 August, as part of Nisville Jazz Festival 2014.

Event “Jazz – A Multicultural Expression” – concert of bands with young musicians from Nis, Leskovac, Vladicin Han, Bosilegrad, Vranje and Bujanovac and a joint performance which includes 45 – 50 young musicians at the end – will start at 19:30h at Nisville Youth Stage, established by Nisville foundation for this occasion.

The musicians of Serbian, Bulgarian, Roma and Albanian nationality have been performing in various Serbian cities within Nisville foundation, launched by several music schools in Southern Serbia and aimed at contributing to cultural diversity and tolerance through more effective civic participation in the promotion of intercultural dialogue and regional reconciliation.

The project’s objective is to promote intercultural dialogue, tolerance and cultural diversity among youth in Southern Serbia through joint cultural events and it involves music schools, jazz professional musicians, local authorities, educational and cultural institutions and CSOs in Southern Serbia.

The Foundation, whose main sponsor is the EU Delegation to Serbia, organised the marking of the International Jazz Day with simultaneous performances of young jazz musicians in six cities in South Serbia – Nis, Vranje, Leskovac, Vladičin Han, Bosilegrad and Bujanovac.
