Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs, Skills and Labour Mobility Marianne Thyssen said “ While we are today recording the lowest unemployment rate in the EU since September 2009 and things are slowly moving in the right direction, there is still much more to be done. The European Commission remains fully mobilised in support of jobs and growth. In the first half of 2016 we will come forward with a European Skills Agenda which will support more people to develop and upgrade their skills. And only last week we have concluded negotiations on the reform of the pan-European job search network (EURES), which will get us closer to a fully functioning European labour market.”
