The call for a study visit to Brussels, announced on 10 February, aimed at librarians working at libraries forming part of EUTEKA network was successfully completed with the first group of 12 librarians being selected by the jury. Selected librarians will pay a study visit to Brussels in late March.
A total of 32 librarians from 25 libraries submitted their applications. The jury based their decision on librarians’ previous engagement and motivation to bring the EU and the benefits of accession closer to citizens as well as on their motivational letters.

Another visit within the project “Study visits to EU institutions in Brussels“ has already been scheduled. The next call for applications, aimed at both librarians who have already applied but were not selected and those who have not applied at all, will be announced timely.
The goal of the visit is to expand the knowledge of the way the EU and its institutions work, learn more about the modus operandi of libraries across Europe and network with European colleagues. New information and contacts will hopefully encourage libraries to conceive and implement activities that would bring Europe and European institutions closer to Serbian citizens.
The jury consisted of:
- Nataša Savić Janjić – Communications Officer at the Serbian European Integration Office
- Tamara Butigan Vučaj, Head of Digital Library Department of the National Library of Serbia
- Dubravka Savić, Project Manager at the EU Delegation to Serbia
- Suzana Miličić, EUTEKA Project Team Leader and
- Vanja Dolapčev, Team Member of the Project “Study visits to EU institutions in Brussels“.
We wish to congratulate the first group of librarians selected to pay a study visit to Brussels in late March and invite their colleagues from other EUTEKA libraries to apply for the next call.
