Members of the European Parliament Vladimir Bilčík (EPP, SK) and Matjaž Nemec (S&D, SL), will conduct a mission to Belgrade on 26 and 27 January 2023 as Parliament’s Democracy Support and Election Coordination Group Lead-Members for the Western Balkans and Serbia. The Lead-Members will meet with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, with the representatives of the parliamentary groups as well as the country’s leadership.

This mission follows-up on the September 2022 meetings that Lead-MEPs held in Belgrade and will focus on the continuation of the cooperation with the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in the area of dialogue facilitation and consensus building.

Since 2019, the European Parliament has been actively involved in dialogue facilitation through the Inter-Party Dialogue process with the Serbian Parliament.

Mr Vladimir Bilčík serves as European Parliament’s Standing Rapporteur for Serbia and substitute member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs. Mr Matjaž Nemec serves as Member of the Delegation to the EU-Serbia Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee and Member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs.
