The EU Delegation to Serbia, in partnership with Nova Iskra, KC Grad, Politikin Zabavnik, and the Erasmus Student Network Serbia, is launching a contest titled “Gastronomy in Focus” for the best photo from Serbia themed around food.

Cultural heritage encompasses not only art, architecture, objects, and crafts, but also the food we eat, how we prepare it, and the customs surrounding gathering at the table. Gastronomic heritage is the result of centuries of human presence in this region, and of exchanges local communities have established with other nations over time.

The contest is inspired by this heritage and sense of community. Every country has its cultural identity, and culinary heritage is a key part of it. Food preserves the history and culture of entire communities.

Who can apply:
All photographers aged 15 and over. Photographers under 18 must provide parental or guardian consent.

The jury will consider:
Digital photographs taken in Serbia, no more than three (3) years old.

Digital entries should be submitted between 15 July and 15 October 2025 via email to: takmicenje@evropskakuca.rs .
Each participant may submit up to five (5) photos, accompanied by a photo list.

Awards for the top three photos:

  • €1000 voucher – First prize
  • €500 voucher – Second prize
  • €300 voucher – Third prize

Exhibition Details:
The 20 best photographs (including the three winners) will be printed and exhibited at Europe House in Belgrade (Zmaj Jovina / Knez Mihailova corner) in late 2025, as well as in Niš and Novi Sad.

The first prize photo will be published in Politikin Zabavnik.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a professional camera—photos taken with mobile phones are also eligible.

Important:
Photos submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

Photos that objectify individuals or are offensive in any way will not be considered!

For photos featuring minors, parental or guardian consent is required.

The organizer reserves the right to modify the contest rules at any stage, with timely notification to participants via europa.rs and EU social media channels in Serbia.
