Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport said technical talks with Belgrade are going according to plan and schedule, noticing that Serbia and EU’s common task should be carried out at full pace.

Ever since Serbia officially started accession talks in January, it entered a completely new phase of relations with the EU, said Davenport at the traditional Tavern Talks titled “On the Right Track”, organised by European Movement in Serbia and Friedrich Ebert Foundation, on the occasion of 9 May, Europe Day.

All of the technical aspects and overviews are going as planned. In this regard, there are no complaints, said Davenport adding that when it comes to “priority chapters – 23 and 24” the work continues as well.

It’s up to European Commission to submit a report concerning these chapters to Member States, and as for the chapter 32, we can move on, he said.

The European integration process, accession negotiations, as well as the possibilities and challenges around this process, were informally discussed by representatives of public administration, diplomatic corps, experts in various fields, representatives of civil society organisations, students, trainees of the European Movement in Serbia’s educational programmes, as well as selected social networks friends of the aforementioned organisation, at the symbolically named “Balkan ekspres” restaurant.
