On Tuesday, 2 February 2016, Director of European Institute for Gender Equality Virginija Langbakk will visit Belgrade and attend the conference introducing the Gender Equality Index for Serbia.
Vice-President of Serbian Government/President of Coordinating Body for Gender Equality Zorana Mihajlovic will open the conference. The attendees will also be addressed by Head of EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport and Director of European Institute for Gender Equality Virginija Langbakk.
Serbia is the first non-EU country to introduce EU Gender Equality Index.
The initiative to calculate the Gender Equality Index for Serbia has been launched by Government Coordinating Body for Gender Equality, Government Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Team and Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, with great support from European Institute for Gender Equality headquartered in Vilnius and in charge of calculating the Index in the EU.
