Serbia’s path to EU membership, problems in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and implementation of political and economic reforms were the main topics of discussion between the Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia, Ambassador Sem Fabrizi and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, the Presidency states.
Ambassador Fabrizi said that the EU Delegation would continue to support Serbia’s European integration process and mediate the dialogue with a goal of reaching a comprehensive agreement between Belgrade and Pristina. President Vucic and Ambassador Fabrizi also considered the recommendations of the latest European Commission Report and agreed that more work is needed in the area of rule of law and implementation of the recommendations.
President Vucic thanked for the EU support to Serbia, pointing out that the Union is the most important foreign trade partner with which Serbia accounts for more than 60 percent of trade.
“Serbia must continue on its European path, and that is why the Union’s continued support for reform is very important to us. It is imperative that we work more intensively to fulfill the European agenda, with the aim of making faster progress on the path to EU membership”, said President Vucic.
