Overview

The photo exhibition “The Year of Reconstruction” about the EU support to the flood affected areas is organised on Savsko šetalište, Kalemegdan 5-12 May 2015 as part of the Europe Week. The human interest stories show how the European Union’s support changed lives of common people affected by the floods in May 2014, through construction and reconstruction of family houses, reconstruction of public buildings, support to agriculture producers, micro and small enterprises.

The European Union will provide assistance to the agriculture producers in Gornji Milanovac, Lučani, Ljig, Ćuprija, Smederevo and Petrovac na Mlavi. These six municipalities were additionally included in the Programme in order to restore agriculture production affected by the floods. Coordination training/workshop with representatives of local communities on distribution of application forms and collection on information beneficiaries will be organized in early May. In meantime, municipalities started gathering information from agricultural producers on their needs.

So far, 136 houses in Obrenovac, Krupanj, Svilajnac, Varvarin, Paraćin, Gornji Milanovac, Bajina Bašta, Šid, Ruma, Loznica, Malo Crniće, Valjevo, Osečina, Smederevo, Smederevska Palanka, Požega, Loznica, Lajkovac, Ruma and Mionica have been constructed, while 815 flood affected homes have been rehablitated in Obrenovac, Krupanj, Kraljevo, Lazarevac, Svilajnac, Trstenik, Varvarin, Valjevo, Mali Zvornik, Ljubovija, Šabac, Bajina Bašta, Šid, Loznica, Smederevska Palanka, Velika Plana, Čačak, Ub, Koceljeva, Jagodina and Paraćin. This is the part of private housing reconstruction process of more than 950 units in 30 municipalities funded through the European Union Assistance for Flood Relief in Serbia Programme.
