Partners of the project “Empower” was organized conference in PUC Kruševac for co-workers and journalists about purchase of the recycling containers, that will be placed in the local communities where is necessary to solve the problem of disposal of recyclable waste. The total investment amount is 832,000 dinars. Procurement of containers is the result of the support of the European Union. After the conference, project team organized a round table   “Presentation of the current situation and models of waste management”.

In front of the administration building PUC, the audience was addressed by Olivera Drenovac, Mayor Assistant for Ecology, Sustainable Development & Energy, and Miroslav Radosavljević Head of PUC Krusevac Recycling Center. “The total value of the funds for the purchase of container from the project” Empower ” is 10,000 euros. In addition to these 100 containers in the future will be purchased even more containers in the amount of 385,000 dinars to improve the recycling center PUC Kruševac. ” said D Miroslav Radosavljević Head of PUC Krusevac Recycling Center and added that by placing containers will extent reduce the problem of inadequate disposal of recyclable waste, especially in rural areas.

After addressing the media and invited guests in the municiplity Kruševac organized a round table on “Presentation of the current situation and the models of waste management.” The aim of this round table was to initiate dialogue and finding new solutions in the field of waste management in the municipalities of Varvarin, Ćićevac, Trstenik and Paraćin. A representative of each municipality had the opportunity to share its experience with the audience and to propose measures for improving the work of its PUC. The discussion was attended by the presidents of the local communities in the territory of Krusevac and representatives of municipal inspections.

The Project “Empower! Socio-Economic Inclusion of Roma & Rural Poor through Recycling” is funded by the European Union and implemented by the Public Utility Company Krusevac, Local Self-Government Krusevac and Civil Society Organization Treehouse with the support of the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs as the main beneficiary of the project. This action is part of the project “European Union Support to Inclusive Society”, supported by the European Union with a grant fund of 5,4 million euro and managed by the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia.
