Therefore, 24 young debaters from all over Serbia participated in the debate tournament that is part of the European Debate School. Grouped into eight teams, the debaters discussed cultural heritage, introduction of free health insurance, environment …
The debates were filmed this summer, in the remains of the royal palace of Felix Romuliana, near Zaječar, while the entire tournament will be broadcast in 11 episodes of the show “Pazi mladost” (Watch the youth) every Friday at 9.30 am and 1 pm on RTS 2.
“We enjoyed our stay outdoors, in the nature, and in the locality; we walked, though about how many people were here before us and what they thought about, and I think that to some extent the whole atmosphere contributed to make the debate a little more beautiful and fun”, says the debate trainer Teodora Rešetar from the Open Communication.
The final tournament of the European Debate School, as well as the presentation debate, are part of the celebration of the “Romuliana Day”.
The event was organized by the National Museum of Zaječar, with support from the project “#EUforYou – EU for Cultural Heritage and Tourism”, funded by the European Union and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, and it is implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
The series itself was realized with the support of the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia and GIZ, as part of the campaign EUforYou.
The archaeological site of Gamzigrad near Zaječar with the remains of the Roman Imperial Palace is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. A visitor centre will be built within this monument complex as part of the project.
