Meeting with leaders of Bujanovac, Preševo and Vranje, and Ambassador will hand over certificates to Bujanovac municipality for Quality Management System and Environmental Management System and he will deliver medical equipment for out-of-hospital Maternity Unit in Preševo.

Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Serbia, Ambassador Michael Davenport, will be in two-day visit to the South Serbia on 30 and 31 January 2014. He will meet leaders of Bujanovac, Preševo and Vranje, hand over certificates to Bujanovac municipality for Quality Management System and Environmental Management System and deliver medical equipment for out-of-hospital Maternity Unit in Preševo. These projects were carried out with the funds of the European Union and Government of Switzerland through the European Partnership with Municipalities Programme EU PROGRES.

Ambassador Davenport will start his visit, on Thursday 30 January, with meeting with president of Bujanovac municipality Nagip Arifi, to whom he will hand over certificates for Quality Management System ISO 9001 and Environmental Management System ISO 14001. Head of Delegation will take part in public debate “Serbian on the path towards the European Union“, on European integration process of the Republic of Serbia. During the second day of his visit, on Friday 31 January, Ambassador Davenport will meet president of Preševo municipality Ragmi Mustafa and deliver him incubators, ultrasound devices and other medical devices for out-of-hospital Maternity Unit. At the end of the visit, he will meet Mayor of Vranje Zoran Antić.

EU PROGRES aims at supporting development of 25 municipalities in South and South West Serbia. European Union will allocate €14.1 million for realization of the programme, the Government of Switzerland €2.5 million, while the Government of the Republic of Serbia allocates €1.5 million.
