Regional development agency Bačka and Techology School “Mileva Marić-Ajnštajn” from Novi Sad have taken part in a project of cross-border cooperation between Croatia and Serbia, “ES-GEES”, whose main goal is an increase of energy efficiency for public buildings in both states.

The project, launched on July 15 this year, would last till January 14, 2020, is being implemented within the Interreg IPA programme of cross-border cooperation between Serbia and Croatia and its total value is 1.395.189,70 Euros.

Reconstruction of schools in both countries is planned within the project, as well as an exchange of knowledge in the energy efficiency domain and renewable energy sources, through various educational content. Schools have been chosen for energy reconstruction as a symbol for investing in future.

The main results of the project will be improvement of knowledge about energy efficiency and renewable energy sources, as well as their promotion. Decrease of energy consumption is an important part of the project, so the energy reconstruction will be implemented using renewable energy sources.

Cross-border cooperation will be additionally strenghtened through various activities that will result in positive changes in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources in both countries.

The first partners’ meeting was held in July, with partners from Serbia, partners from the city of Osijek, as the project holder, present, as well as the representatives from partners from Croatia – Regional Development Agency of Slavonija and Baranja and Renewable Energy Sources trade enterpreneur Osijek d.o.o.
