Members of the Kursumlija Association of Persons with Disabilities sew cotton masks and distribute them free of charge to sim members, housewives and anyone in need.
“We are fighting for human lives every day, so we will not sell masks anymore, give away, share for free,” says Marko Filipovic, project manager for Activation for More Opportunities and president of this Association.
The free mask protection campaign is part of the European Union Support to Youth Inclusion project, from which € 98,000 has been earmarked for activities in Kursumlija.
The project, “EU Support to Active Youth Engagement”, worth 4.7 million euros, funded by the European Union and co-funded by the Government of the Republic of Serbia, aims to ensure greater social inclusion of young people in Serbia by increasing employment, youth activities, work experience and entrepreneurial practices among young people. The European Union and the Government of the Republic of Serbia have awarded 24 grants, which will be implemented in more than 35 towns and municipalities in Serbia by the end of 2021.
