Media trips to European countries are to be organised in 2023, after the Pulse of Europe – Media trips to EU project has got the extension for another 17 months.
The project will continue to organise individual and group trips to countries of the European Union for Serbian journalists until May 2024. The project is open to all Serbian media that respect the Code of Ethics and professional journalistic standards. Individual media trips require an application with an explanation of the topic proposed to be explored in an EU country, while group media trips are thematic and are fully organised by the project. As the goal of the project is to bring the process of European integration as well as good European practices closer to the citizens of Serbia, through media coverage, the spectrum of topics is wide – from the rule of law, environmental protection to innovation and agriculture.
After basing its activities as online at the time of Covid-19 pandemic outbreak, the Pulse of Europe has been organising media trips as of September 2021.
By the end of 2022, eight group and 18 individual media trips were organised to 15 EU countries, as well as one country in the region (Albania). Also, the first media trip of European journalists to Serbia took place in November 2022.
