“In the beginning, when we started to develop wind farms, there were a lot of prejudices. People did not believe that it would happen in Serbia, it was perceived as something very expensive, as insecure, and now we have a situation where people are slowly realising that renewable energy sources are the guarantor of energy independence and stability of each country and are key to sustainable development.” says Danijela Isailović from the association “Renewable Energy Sources”.

Alibunar wind farm produces electricity, green energy for 38 thousand households, and reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 88 thousand tons.

The construction of wind farms in Serbia is financed by loans from the EBRD, international financial institutions and commercial banks. The value of the investments is more than EUR600 million.
