The closing conference within the project “Legal Support for Negotiations (PLAC II)” was held today at the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.
At the conference, the results and activities of the EUR2,6 million worth project were presented, through which the European Union helps Serbia to improve the harmonisation of its domestic legislation with the EU acquis, improve the implementation of legal acts, as well as the capacities of relevant institutions for the successful conduct of accession negotiations.
Deputy Head of the EU Delegation Mateja Norčič Štamcar pointed to importance of law implementation.
“Enforcement is an issue for the entire region. Serbia has entered the negotiating phase where things are going on internally. You have a major task ahead of you, but your citizens will benefit greatly from it. And the EU is your great supporter in that endeavour,” said Norčič Štamcar.
Apart from Norčič Štamcar, the conference organised by the Ministry of European Integration was attended by Ksenija Milenković, Assistant Minister of European Integration, Tanja Miščević, Head of the Negotiating Team for Accession of the Republic of Serbia to the European Union, Mateja Norčič Štamcar, Deputy Head of EU Delegation to the Republic of Serbia, and Mojca Grošelj, Team Leader on PLAC II project.
